چکیده

Abstract Shape memory alloys (SMA in short) exhibit a series of properties which are very different compared to regular metallic materials. One their main characteristic is the ability change geometric shape when subjected an increase from low high temperature. In certain conditions, this can be reversible, such that material “memorize” two shapes: temperature (the “warm” shape) and “cold” shape). These transformations occur due effect known as (SME short). Moreover, through SME, able produce mechanical work shifting one [1]. The discovery these linked highlighting specific property actually pertains only several said (being uncommon for material) “rubber-type behavior”. Many types SMAs expensive, composition (which includes noble metals) complex manufacturing technologies.. most commonly encountered nowadays Ni-Ti, Cu-Al-Zn Cu-Al-Ni employed plethora practical applications.

Notch Effects in Tensile Behavior of AM60 Magnesium Alloys

The deformation and failure behavior of an AM60 magnesium alloy was investigated using tensile test on circumferentially notched specimens with different notch radii. The strain and stress triaxiality corresponding to the failure point were evaluated using both analytical and finite element analyses. Combining with systematical observations of the fracture surfaces, it is concluded that deforma...

Anisotropic constitutive equations and experimental tensile behavior of brain tissue.

The present study deals with the experimental analysis and mechanical modeling of tensile behavior of brain soft tissue. A transversely isotropic hyperelastic model recently proposed by Meaney (2003) is adopted and mathematically studied under uniaxial loading conditions. Material parameter estimates are obtained through tensile tests on porcine brain materials accounting for regional and direc...

Microstructure and Tensile Behavior of Laser Arc Hybrid Welded Dissimilar Al and Ti Alloys

Fiber laser-cold metal transfer arc hybrid welding was developed to welding-braze dissimilar Al and Ti alloys in butt configuration. Microstructure, interface properties, tensile behavior, and their relationships were investigated in detail. The results show the cross-weld tensile strength of the joints is up to 213 MPa, 95.5% of same Al weld. The optimal range of heat input for accepted joints...

Elastocaloric effect in CuAlZn and CuAlMn shape memory alloys under compression.

This paper reports the elastocaloric effect of two Cu-based shape memory alloys: Cu68Al16Zn16 (CuAlZn) and Cu73Al15Mn12 (CuAlMn), under compression at ambient temperature. The compression tests were conducted at two different rates to approach isothermal and adiabatic conditions. Upon unloading at a strain rate of 0.1 s(-1) (adiabatic condition) from 4% strain, the highest adiabatic temperature...
